Open letter from the Independent Strategic Advisor, the promise.

Scotland made a promise that must be kept in full to everyone, everywhere, every day by 2030.

You may already know that Natalie Don-Innes tabled a motion for debate on 6 November: S6M-15205 ‘That the Parliament reaffirms its collective commitment to Keep The Promise by 2030’.  

MSPs from all parties, across the chamber affirmed their commitment, reflected on the considerable progress made to date, but also the distance still to travel. So, whilst commitment remains strong, frustration was expressed at the deep-rooted systemic barriers that continue to get in the way with a clear call for the pace and scale of change to be increased. This requires all of us. And we all know that commitment to keep the promise extends well beyond the chamber.  Keeping the promise requires every one of us, every person and every system.
